  	Valborg Christobal Martherine Jothen WESTBY, Wis. — Valborg Christobal Martherine Jothen, 90, of Westby died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Hillview Nursing Home in La Crosse. She was born Sept. 24, 1914, to Christian and Minnie (Baglien) Benrud. On Oct. 20, 1935, she was united in marriage to Joseph Melvin Jothen in Skogdalen Lutheran Church. She was a member of Skogdalen Lutheran Church and the WELCA. She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Russell) Stenslien of La Crosse; two grandchildren, Paula Kildahl of Twin Lakes, Wis., and Krist Stenslien of La Crosse; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Hannah Kildahl; sisters-in-law, Esther Benrud, Thelma Dahlen, Maxine Benrud, Marge Jothen and Helen Jothen; brother-in-law, Blaine Jothen; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph on Feb. 21, 1995; two brothers, Paul and Carl Benrud; three half-brothers, Clifford and Waldo Benrud, and Clarence Dahlen; brother-in-law, Kenneth Jothen; sisters-in-law, Fay Benrud, Inga Benrud and Helen Benrud; and one sister, Borghild. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Nov. 22, at Skogdalen Lutheran Church in Timber Coulee, rural Westby. Pastors Gary Daines and Dale Svendsen will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church after 11 a.m. on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Skogdalen Lutheran Church or the Norskehalen Pioneer Church account care of Paul Benrud/ Edward Jones, 4512 E. Washington Suite 13, Madison, WI 53704. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
